* Problems to address:
- Few women developers in Software in general (~20%), particularly in 
  Free Software (~3%).
- In some conferences there still is harassment problems, organization has to
  address this by issuing, at least, with a clear statement or policy about
  this situations.
- How to start in more technicals activities.
- How to get men to explain and help and not to try to do and fix things [1]:
  - Teach them to teach?
- How many mentors are women? 
  About half (in the d-w mentoring program, at least)
- How many women presentations took place in DebConf 2012?
  A: 1 <- Address this the next year.

* Fears?

Debian's diversity statement is great!


* Experiences in Central America (http://otras.org/)

- Born as a space to share experiences from women participating not in logistics 
  aspects but more general intellectual ones.
- Give opportunities to women to participate in activities that are normally 
  undertaken by men.
- Harassment-free space.
- Currently there are members from all Central America, South America, Spain and 
  several other places.
- Self-training environment.
- Currently only in Spanish.

* Debian Women: how is it now? future plans?
** mostly stalled
** most originators have moved to other activities
** introduced a significant increase that may give the feeling that d-w is "no longer needed"
** Debian Women is still needed in the current situation?
** Have a minimum quote for women in DebConf?
   - In Debian spirit no one can force you to participate.
** Been a women is a criteria for travel sponsorship?
   - Currently: no. (Positive discrimination was debated several DebConfs ago, 
     with not good support from women).

** "Newbie tasks project": an incipient project for newbies with concrete tasks.
